A local support service in Wales is seeking a Support Worker / Personal Assistant to assist an active young lady in socializing and engaging in hobbies. The role involves supporting independence through daily living skills and local exploration. Applicants should be patient, animal-loving, and IT literate, with a full driving license and own transport. This position offers flexibility in hours, guided by the employer's needs.

Rate of pay: £13.00.
I am an active young lady seeking the assistance of a support worker to allow me to socialise, enjoy the local community, and engage in hobbies and interests. I would like my support worker to help me to build confidence in meeting new people and visiting new places. This will help me to engage in new activities and experiences. I enjoy trips out in the car to interesting places, dog walking and agility. My assistance dog comes everywhere with me, and I would like help to find activities we can do together. I have a keen interest in equestrianism and would like help accessing this activity as well as exploring other opportunities locally.
As my support worker you would also be assisting me to develop my living skills and routines, whilst helping me to maintain my independence. This could include meal planning, shopping for ingredients, help with meal preparation and assistance with some light domestic chores. I am also keen to familiarise myself with the local area and would like my support worker to help me plan and navigate routes to and from our chosen destinations. It would be beneficial if my support worker has a knowledge of the locality and surrounding areas. It would also be helpful to me if my support worker is IT literate so they can assist me to engage with online courses including support managing my workload as well as research, assignment planning and the development of problem-solving skills. This role would suit a likeminded and patient, animal loving person who enjoys days out, physical activities and has a sense of fun and adventure. The hours are to be worked flexibly as required and agreed in advance. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable the me to manage my support independently. Training can be provided as required and where available. You must have your own transport and a full driving licence as you may be required to transport me to and from venues.
