Job title: Personal Assistant
Location: Llandysul
Hours of work: 8 hours per week
Rate of pay: £13.00 per hour
I am a retired lady in my eighties who would like to employ a personal assistant to help me at home and in the community.
Responsibilities
- Help at home to enable independent performance of daily tasks around the house, including assisting with chores and making light refreshments or other small tasks as needed.
- Assist me to access the local community and its amenities, including activities such as walking on the high street, shopping trips, or strolls around the surrounding area.
- Assist as a wheelchair user, including navigating surroundings. Previous experience with mobility support is beneficial.
Qualifications and preferences
- Willingness to assist with mobility and daily living tasks as required.
- Previous experience in similar support roles is beneficial but not necessarily required.
Contract, checks and terms
- This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of an individual employer. You will be employed by that individual and not Ceredigion County Council.
- This appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will incur no cost to the applicant. If you have an online update DBS you may be able to shorten recruitment; if you wish to update your current DBS please use the Update Service at https://www.gov.uk/dbs-update-service.
- If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided.
- The post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
- Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and document checks will be conducted prior to commencement.
- You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement and all other statutory entitlements, as set out in your contract of employment. A Personal Assistants Handbook will be issued when employment commences.
- You may be required to undertake mandatory training identified as relevant to this post; the cost of mandatory training will be met through direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
