Job summary

Hornbeck Offshore® seeks a Second Assistant Engineer for DP-2 vessels to oversee engineering watch, safety systems, and vessel performance. You will coordinate with the Chief Engineer, manage crew and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with SMS, environmental, and safety standards.

You must hold flag-state credentials, a riggers certificate, and a valid passport, with English proficiency and prior DP-2 experience. Rotation and offshore duties apply, with OPITO BOSIET credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Flag state credentials required for Second Engineer on DP-2 vessels.
• Riggers certificate and a passport are highly preferred.
• Fluent English reading/writing and clear command of English.
• Minimum one year DP-2 vessel experience at a level not lower than Assistant Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Implement SMS, Code of Conduct, and company policies on board.
• Serve as OICEW and ensure safe operation of engineering systems.
• Manage engineering crew, vendors, and subcontractors per Chief Engineer.
• Monitor fuel, water, oils, and spare parts consumption and reports.
• Cooperate with flag/state authorities and shore-side staff as directed.
