GE Aerospace invites applications for an Accounting Finance Degree Apprentice at Dowty, a GE Aerospace business, based in Gloucestershire. You will contribute to finance systems and processes, bridging strategic and operational activities while completing a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting over three years.
You’ll be supported by mentors and placement managers, with exposure to data analysis, financial reporting, and cross-functional collaboration within a rapidly evolving aerospace environment.
As an Accounting Finance Degree Apprentice, you will work within the finance department, which is responsible for the finance systems and processes that support decision-making in line with our business strategy.

Dowty, a GE Aerospace company, is based in Gloucestershire. It is a world-leading supplier of electronically controlled, composite propeller systems for a wide range of civil and military applications, including commercial airliners and military airlifters to multi-role seaplanes and marine hovercraft. Key programs include the Lockheed Martin C-130J, the De-Haviland, Dash 8-400 and the Leonardo C-27J. Operated by a highly skilled workforce, Dowty’s in‑house production expertise for composite blades includes application of resin transfer moulding processes, which have been continuously evolved and perfected since 1976; and the use of braiding machines that rapidly and accurately apply the blades’ fibre outer layers.
The Accounting Finance Apprentice will work independently, as well as collaboratively with other functions, acting as a finance representative on cross‑functional teams. This role will give you exposure to both the strategic and operational workings of an organisation, playing a pivotal role in bridging the two as part of your broader accounting and finance development. You will conduct regular and detailed analysis of data and provide regular financial and management information as required by internal and external stakeholders. You will be supported by your line manager, plus placement managers, mentors, and the wider apprentice network, to ensure you are meeting the requirements of your course and getting the most out of your apprenticeship.
Length of Program is 3 years plus End Point Assessment, completed online with the University of Exeter. At the completion of this course you will receive a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting and a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship award. Each stage of study is structured to incorporate masterclasses, online learning, academic coaching and workplace mentoring. Assessment is ongoing and is relevant to the work tasks of apprentices with a variety of problem based assignments. As you progress through the years you will become a more integrated member of the team, taking on more responsibilities in your department and within the apprenticeship community.
