Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Down's Syndrome? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in Blackpool, providing essential support to students with Down's Syndrome.

Position: Down's Syndrome Support Teaching Assistant
Location: Blackpool
Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a student with Down's Syndrome, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored educational plans and activities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.
  • Support students in developing their social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to monitor and report on student progress.
  • Assist with personal care tasks as needed, ensuring the dignity and comfort of the student.
  • Encourage and facilitate participation in classroom activities and school events.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with Down's Syndrome or other special educational needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the individual needs of each student.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (preferred but not essential).
