Job summary

Hewetts Dental is seeking a compassionate Dentist to provide NHS dental care to residents in care homes within a ~40-minute radius of the practice. You will travel between one or more care homes during each clinical session, with a Dental Nurse accompanying you on every visit.

The role emphasises compassionate care for the elderly and those with complex needs, including dementia, and requires a full UK driving licence to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• GDC registered with an active NHS Performer Number.
• Confident delivering high-quality general dentistry.
• Caring, patient and compassionate approach.
• Enjoys working with elderly patients and those with complex needs.
• Willing to travel between care homes.
• Able to build relationships with patients and care home staff.
• Value teamwork and collaborates with nursing colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide NHS dental care to residents in care homes.
• Travel between care homes during sessions.
• Perform routine examinations and preventative advice.
• Carry out general treatments and denture assessments as appropriate.
• Work with an accompanying Dental Nurse.
• Deliver compassionate care to elderly patients, including those with dementia.
