Job summary

New Age Care is seeking a Domiciliary Carer to deliver high-quality, person-centred care in clients' own homes across Birmingham. You will promote dignity and independence while assisting with daily living activities and health needs in a safe, supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • DBS clearance is required.
  • No prior experience required; full training will be provided.
  • Must have a full UK driving licence and reliable vehicle access.
  • Must be flexible to cover evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Personal Care: assist with personal care and promote client independence.
  • Daily Living Support: assist with meals, mobility, and household tasks as per care plan.
  • Medication Support: administer or support medication and maintain records.
  • Emotional & Social Support: provide companionship and encourage social engagement.
  • Record-Keeping & Reporting: keep care records and report health changes promptly.
  • Professional Conduct: uphold data protection and complete mandatory training.

Job description

As a Domiciliary carer - Offer high-quality, person-centred care and support to clients in their own homes, promoting dignity, independence, and emotional wellbeing. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, supporting health needs, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Personal Care: Assist with personal care and promote client independence.

2. Daily Living Support: Support with meals, mobility, and household tasks as outlined in the care plan.

3. Medication Support: Administer or support medication and maintain records

4. Emotional & Social Support: Offer companionship, emotional support, and encourage clients social and recreational engagement.

5. Record-Keeping & Reporting: Maintain care records, report health changes promptly, and adhere to organisational policies and safeguarding standards.

6. Professional Conduct: Demonstrate professionalism and respect, uphold data protection, and participate in ongoing training. Attend mandatory training and participate in professional development.

  • Safeguarding: Protect vulnerable adults from abuse or neglect. (Care Act 2014)
  • Consent & Capacity: Respect choices; follow Mental Capacity Act 2005 & DoLS.
  • Confidentiality: Protect client information. (GDPR & Data Protection Act 2018)
  • Equality & Rights: Treat everyone fairly and with dignity. (Equality Act 2010, Human Rights Act 1998)
  • Health & Safety: Work safely; follow risk assessments, infection control, and manual handling procedures.
  • Medicines: Administer safely and record accurately. (Medicines Act 1968 & Misuse of Drugs Act 1971)
  • Regulatory Compliance: Follow CQC Fundamental Standards and NICE guidelines

A domiciliary care worker is legally and ethically responsible for delivering safe, person-centred care in peoples homes through structured assessments, trained staff, robust safeguarding, and continuous quality monitoring.
