Job summary

Bluebird Care Calderdale and Bradford is seeking kind, reliable people to join our Care Assistant team, supporting customers in their own homes across Halifax and Brighouse. No prior care experience is required as full training is provided. You will need a full UK driving licence and own car, plus the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Visit customers in their own homes and provide support based on individual needs.
• Assist with personal care including washing and dressing as required.
• Support with medication administration as directed.
• Prepare meals and assist with nutrition and hydration.
• Assist with light housework and keeping a comfortable home.
• Provide companionship and help maintain independence.
• Follow care plans and keep accurate records.

£13.00 per hour + 25p per mile

Flexible shifts: 7am–2pm and 4pm–10pm

Full training provided

You don't necessarily need previous care experience.What matters most is that you're compassionate, dependable and comfortable helping people with the everyday things that allow them to stay safe, happy and independent at home.

Whether you're already working in care or looking for a completely new career, we'll give you the training and ongoing support you need.

Duties

No two days in care are exactly the same.You will visit customers in their own homes and provide support based on their individual needs.

This could include:

• Helping with washing, dressing and other personal care
• Supporting customers with medication
• Preparing meals and helping with food and nutrition
• Helping with light housework, laundry and keeping the home comfortable
• Providing companionship and a friendly face
• Supporting customers to maintain their independence
• Following individual care plans and keeping accurate records
• Getting to know the people you support and noticing when something doesn't seem quite right

Sometimes the most important part of the visit is simply taking the time to have a chat and make sure someone is okay.

The ideal candidate

You don't need to have worked as a Care Assistant before, as full training will be provided.

You will need:

• A full UK driving licence and access to your own car
• Applicants must have an existing and unrestricted right to work in the UK for this role.
• A caring, patient and compassionate approach
• Good communication skills
• To be reliable and comfortable working independently
• The confidence to support people with personal care
• A genuine desire to help people live independently in their own homes

Previous experience in care is welcome, but it isn't essential.

• 25p mileage allowance per mile
