Location: Chepstow Community Hospital Hours: Rolling rota – includes potential shifts on 2 weekends a month, with days off during the week

Pay Rates:

  • Monday–Friday: £12.21 per hour
  • Saturday: £17.22 per hour
  • Sunday: £22.34 per hour
Role Purpose

To provide essential domestic and catering support within the hospital ward environment, ensuring patients receive safe, nutritious meals and that the ward is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, portioning, and delivery of meals to patients, considering dietary needs and hospital guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in ward kitchens, dining areas, and patient meal service points.
  • Support ward staff in following food safety procedures, including correct storage, handling, and disposal of food.
  • Carry out domestic duties such as cleaning floors, surfaces, and equipment in line with infection control standards.
  • Collaborate with nursing and catering teams to ensure patient satisfaction and wellbeing.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the use of PPE.
  • Work flexibly as part of a rolling rota, which may include up to 2 weekends per month, with allocated days off during the week.
