Qualifications

Domestic Supervisor

Band 3 – 12 month fixed term. Full time 37.5 hours per week.

Job Overview

An experienced supervisor is needed to ensure high standards of cleaning within a healthcare environment. A can-do attitude, knowledge of supervising a cleaning service and the ability to work as part of a large team are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the performance of staff within the team to ensure approved standard operating procedures are adhered to in the delivery of day to day cleaning of all areas of the Trust.
  • Ensure that the team operates at all times to highest standards of customer care, safety and efficiency.
  • Cover all absences within the supervision team, completing all relevant documentation.
  • Sanction domestic holidays, keeping to the agreed levels allowed per team.
  • Follow all procedures regarding cleaning requests from Infection Control and document cleans correctly.
  • Attend all relevant/mandatory training courses, even if outside normal shift times.
  • Support all staff, delivering effective induction and job‑specific training for equipment and chemicals.
  • Arrange short‑term absence cover to ensure all areas are covered.
  • Adjust daily service provision on a short‑term basis, changing arrangements for staff absences or untoward incidences.
  • Liaise with service users and local managers over any issues that may interfere with correct service delivery, reporting concerns to line management.
