Blundells is a co-educational independent school for pupils aged 3 – 18 years. We are now looking for a Domestic Services Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

As the Domestic Services Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of high-quality domestic services across our school.

Specifically, you’ll manage our cleaning, laundry and portering teams, and ensure the smooth and efficient running of all domestic operations. You’ll ensure high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and customer service are maintained across our school’s facilities, whilst managing the recruitment, training, and performance of your team.

Working closely with Houseparents, the Commercial Lettings Manager, and other key stakeholders, you’ll also coordinate cleaning and portering support for large-scale school events and residential lets.

Additionally, You Will
  • Coordinate staffing and logistics for school and external events
  • Manage waste contracts, stock control, and budgets
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards
  • Build effective relationships with suppliers and contractors
About You

To be considered as our Domestic Services Manager, you will need:

  • Significant experience of leading a large team within a similar industry
  • Proven experience of budget setting, monitoring and effective cost control
  • The ability to produce cleaner work schedules, risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work
  • Strong employee management skills
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
