Job Overview

Here is an opportunity for you to join us as a Domestic Assistant.

Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day upkeep of the cleanliness in specific areas as set out in the cleaning schedule.
  • These areas will include all communal areas, residents’ rooms, vacates, family accommodation, and on‑call accommodation.
  • The post is part of a team working within a residential staff accommodation.
  • All areas are maintained free of mould, dust, dirt and moisture through daily and periodic cleaning.
  • All areas are maintained free from excessive refuse and kept tidy and presentable at all times.
  • Provide cover for all areas as requested.
  • Be flexible to cover either site as and when required.
  • Any other reasonable ad‑hoc duties as required for service provision.
  • Ensure duties identified on the cleaning schedule are completed (e.g., ovens, hobs, microwaves, kettles, toasters, fridge/freezers).
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, scrub, and use a carpet machine on all floor types.
  • Dust high and low ledges and surfaces.
  • Clean bathrooms, baths, showers, sinks, and toilets.
  • Remove and replace curtains as required.
  • Empty and clean waste bins.
Vacate Cleaning
  • Vacate cleans which include rooms, family accommodation and communal areas as per designated vacate forms.
  • Address walls, doors, door frames, radiators, mirrors and internal glazing including partitions.
Compliance
  • Comply with COSHH Regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of Health & Safety legislation and the correct use of PPE.
  • Comply with Directives on Fire Regulations.
