Domestic Housekeeper

Location: Simmonite Road, Kimberworth Park, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, S61 3EQ

Job Type: Part Time

Pay: £12.21 per hour – 30 hours per week

When entering any of our homes, everyone notices our high standards of cleanliness. A clean, well‑maintained, tidy environment supports the physical and mental wellbeing of residents and staff, making the Domestic Housekeeper a vital part of the day‑to‑day operation.

You will engage with residents, families and staff, acting as an advocate for our care philosophy. The role requires careful handling of cleaning chemicals, accurate use of equipment, and adherence to rigorous health and safety and infection control standards.

Main Duties

• Clean all care home areas to a high standard, following specific cleaning guidelines and schedules and ensuring they meet residents’ needs.
• Respect and maintain confidentiality of personal information, upholding residents’ rights to privacy, dignity and choice.
• Understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements – Health & Safety, COSHH, fire safety, the Care Standards Act, and Infection Prevention & Control policies.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is in safe working order; report any faults to Home Management immediately.
• Check that housekeeping supplies are adequate and inform the manager of any shortages.
• Use initiative and spot‑clean any spills as they occur.
• Participate actively in team meetings, attend training sessions and contribute to a friendly, supportive environment.
