Job summary

Active Heating Services Ltd is hiring a Domestic Gas Engineer to join a growing domestic heating and plumbing team. The role covers Newbury, Reading, Basingstoke and surrounding areas, with a full-time schedule and a competitive salary up to £45,000.

You’ll work independently, supported by the office team and fellow engineers, performing boiler installations, servicing, breakdowns and gas safety checks along with general heating and plumbing tasks.

Qualifications

• Gas Safe registered
• Experience in domestic boiler work (servicing, breakdowns and installs)
• Oil experience is a bonus (but not essential)
• Comfortable working independently
• Good with customers and communication
• Full UK driving licence holder

About the role:

This is a full-time position carrying out a mix of domestic heating, gas work and plumbing across Newbury, Reading, Basingstoke and the surrounding towns and villages. You’ll work independently, supported by our office team and team of engineers.

Your work will include:

• Boiler installations
• Boiler servicing and breakdowns
• System diagnostics and repairs
• Gas safety inspections
• General domestic heating work
• General domestic plumbing work
• Customer support and job reporting
• Occasional emergency callouts (rota based)

What we are looking for:

We’re seeking someone who is:

• Gas Safe registered
• Experienced in domestic boiler work (servicing, breakdowns and installs)

• Able to diagnose issues with accuracy and confidence
• Full UK driving licence holder
