Job summary

A healthcare organization is seeking a Domestic Assistant for Wansbeck General Hospital. This part-time role requires effective cleaning duties to maintain high cleanliness standards and ensure safety for patients and staff. Successful candidates will have previous domestic experience and basic food hygiene knowledge. Flexible working hours with a pay of £24,465 per annum pro rata. Training opportunities provided.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake deep cleans in areas with infection.
  • Removal of rubbish including domestic and clinical waste.
  • Cleaning of sanitary areas, toilets, sinks, shower cubicles, and staff changing areas.
  • Damp dusting of all surfaces.
  • Scheduled cleaning of chairs and carpets.

Job summary

We are looking for friendly, flexible and conscientious people with a love of cleaning to join our team of Domestic Assistants at Wansbeck General Hospital.

These positions are to work 24 hrs per week, usually worked as 4 x 6 hr shifts. Shifts worked are usually either 7am - 1pm, 12pm-6pm or 1pm - 7pm and this post includes working a share of weekends and Bank Holidays.

Other hours may also be available.

Job responsibilities
  • Cleaning of floor areas as scheduled by means of vacuuming, mopping, buffing and spray cleaning.
  • Undertake deep cleans in areas where infection is present
  • Removal of rubbish including domestic and clinical waste from designated areas to disposal point.
  • Cleaning of sanitary areas, toilet, sinks, shower cubicles and staff changing areas.
  • Damp dusting of all surfaces, ledges, shelves, curtain rails.
  • Cleaning of internal glass.
  • Taking down and putting up of curtains.
  • Scheduled cleaning of chairs.
  • Scheduled cleaning of carpets.
  • To wash walls (shoulder height) fitting and windows where required.
  • Use all equipment and materials in a correct and safe manner.
  • Report all faults queries or problems to the Ward Manager/Domestic Supervisor.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all work areas.
  • Carry out any urgent spot cleaning and spillage.
  • Participate in training programmes relevant to efficiency, fire drills, hygiene, the requirements of the health and safety at Work regulations and other courses as deemed necessary for the efficient working of the department.
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate.
