Job description

Overview

There is an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to support our services at Alderney Hospital. This post is 20 hours per week, floater position, covering different areas in different shifts, varying between 8am to 8pm.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for achieving a high standard of cleanliness in a clinical ward based environment and non-clinical areas throughout the main hospital, ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment is maintained.
• Support the Facilities Supervisor in their role to ensure the standard of cleanliness is implemented and maintained.
• Main duties: vacuuming, mopping, general cleaning/damp dusting, cleaning bathrooms, toilets, emptying bins, use of mechanical floor cleaning machines.
• Work as part of a team with a flexible approach, good communication skills and the ability to use own initiative.
• All vacancies offer opportunity to work extra hours to cover sickness and staff holidays.

Requirements

• Employment in this post requires a Standard DBS check (Trust will cover cost). Applicants who subscribe to DBS update service may present valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.
• Applicants must not require Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK.
• Full on-site training is provided and PPE is included.
