Zohorecruit is recruiting a diligent and caring domestic assistant for a Guernsey care home. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with the possibility of part-time (20 hpw) if you are already resident in Guernsey and align with need.

We are looking for a diligent and caring domestic assistant to assume the role at a Guernsey care home.

You will be required to workas a team member in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and hygienethroughout the home.

This is a full time role at 40 hours per week, however part time (20 hpw) work will be considered if you are already resident in Guernsey and your availability meets our demand.

Requirements

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To liaise with the Housekeeper.
  
• To serve teas/coffees and afternoonrefreshments to residents.To beprepared to work in different areas of the home depending on staffinglevels.
  
• Cleaning schedules to be adhered to as faras possible.Exceptions to theschedule to be discussed with the Housekeeper or Care Manager.
  
• When allocated to oversee the laundryensure it is washed, dried, ironed and transferred back to the appropriatelinen cupboards within 2 days of having arrived in the laundry department.
  
• All personal laundry must be washedaccording to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  
• Ensure residents personal laundry isclearly labelled, hems and buttons are satisfactory and if not notify theHousekeeper.
  
• Ensure personal laundry is returned to theresidents.
  
• All equipment used must be treated withrespect and kept clean and stored correctly.
  
• Ensure safe use of equipment and reportany problems with its use.
  
• Knowledge and adherence to duties withregard to the Homes Infection Control Policy.
  
• To be willing to undertake any trainingprogrammes deemed necessary.
  
• To be aware and understand the Fire Policyof Blanchelande Park and be able to quickly locate all fire alarms andequipment.
  
• To observe safe moving and handlingpolicies and implement them at all times.
  
• To attend annual updates on fire andhandling procedures.
  
• To maintain confidentiality in all mattersin relation to staff, management and residents at all times.
  
• To report accidents and any untowardincidents to the Housekeeper or Nurse in Charge.
