Job summary

Burnview Healthcare in Northern Ireland is recruiting for Bank Domestic Assistants to maintain a clean, hygienic and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors, in line with infection control and health & safety standards.

Role includes cleaning duties across resident bedrooms and communal areas, adhering to safety policies, and supporting residents with dignity and respect. Enhanced Access NI check is required; training provided.

Qualifications

• Right to live and work in the UK.
• Experience in cleaning or domestic work.
• Understanding of cleaning and hygiene standards.
• Satisfactory Enhanced Access NI Check.
• COSHH knowledge (desired).
• Care home or healthcare setting experience (desired).
• Basic hygiene or cleaning certificate (desired).

Responsibilities

• Cleaning resident bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, corridors, and offices to a high standard.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures, including COSHH regulations.
• Follow infection prevention protocols including hand hygiene, PPE usage, and deep cleaning as required.
• Be respectful and courteous to residents, ensuring privacy and dignity are upheld.
• Attend mandatory training and staff meetings as required.

Domestic Assistant

We are currently recruiting for Bank Domestic Assistants to provide and maintain a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors in accordance with infection control and health & safety standards.

About the role

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Hygiene:

• Clean resident bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, corridors, and offices to a high standard.
• Undertake daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules as directed.
• Dispose of waste in line with care home policy and infection control guidelines.
• Use appropriate cleaning equipment and materials safely and effectively.

Health & Safety:

• Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures, including COSHH regulations.
• Report any faults, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly.
• Ensure proper storage and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Infection Control:

• Follow infection prevention protocols including hand hygiene, PPE usage, and deep cleaning as required.
• Assist in implementing enhanced cleaning during outbreaks (e.g., flu, norovirus, COVID-19).

Resident Interaction:

• Be respectful and courteous to residents, ensuring privacy and dignity are upheld.
• Report any concerns regarding residents’ wellbeing to a senior staff member.

Other Duties:

• Attend mandatory training and staff meetings as required.
