Job summary

A well-respected charity in Leicester is seeking a Domestic Abuse Refuge Manager to lead operations of a 24-hour refuge. You will provide a safe environment for survivors of domestic violence while managing staff and overseeing budgets. The ideal candidate has relevant experience and strong communication skills. This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of around £30,800 per annum.

Overview

Domestic Abuse Refuge Manager. Salary: circa £30,800 per annum. Location: Leicester. In partnership with a well respected charity, I am recruiting for an experienced Domestic Abuse Refuge Manager to lead the operations of a 24-hour refuge in Leicester, providing a safe and supportive environment for women and children escaping domestic violence. You will join a non-profit charity dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic abuse.

As Refuge Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the service.

Responsibilities
  • Managing staff rotas and team performance
  • Budgeting and financial oversight
  • Staff recruitment, training, and development
  • Supporting residents with benefit claims and housing needs
  • Maintaining accurate records and using internal systems
  • Delivering presentations and building relationships with local authorities, community groups, and partner organisations
Essential Requirements
  • Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in work with vulnerable people, especially domestic abuse victims, women, young people, and children
  • Minimum of three years in a care or social welfare setting
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent in English and at least one main BAME language
  • Ability to work flexible and unsociable hours

  • Knowledge of multi-agency partnership working across statutory and voluntary sectors
  • Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance
  • Clear Enhanced DBS check
