Job summary

Dogs Trust is seeking a Dog Welfare Assistant in Canterbury to provide daily care and enrichment for dogs awaiting homes. The role combines customer service with public education on dog welfare and responsible ownership.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, energetic team player, and experienced with dogs, understanding basic behaviour and health needs. A full manual driving licence is essential for this position.

• Experience working with or handling dogs; knowledge of basic health issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care to dogs in the rehoming centre in line with Dogs Trust policies.
• Educate potential new owners and the public on dog care and welfare.
• Deliver excellent customer service to centre visitors.
