As a Traveling Superintendent, you will lead on-site operations, enforce safety and quality standards, and coordinate subcontractors—building skills for a civilian career in construction leadership. Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily site activities and enforce safety protocols
  • Review drawings, specs, and scopes of work
  • Conduct inspections, manage punch lists, and maintain documentation
  • Coordinate subcontractors and support project scheduling.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce Accident Prevention Plan (APP)
  • Conduct safety audits and promote a proactive safety culture.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years construction experience
  • Strong knowledge of building methods and safety standards
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel and obtain security clearance
  • Certifications (or willingness to obtain): OSHA 30, USACE CQM, EM 385-1-1, CPR/First Aid
  • Procore experience, federal/USACE project background
SkillBridge Details
  • Type: On-the-Job Training (OJT)
  • Schedule: Full-time, standard site hours
  • Compensation: Unpaid (military pay/benefits continue)
  • Supervision: Daily mentorship, weekly reviews, career coaching.
Career Path

Superintendents can grow into senior leadership roles such as Project Manager or Director of Construction, gaining increased responsibility for budgeting, scheduling, and strategic oversight across federal and commercial projects.
