Overview

The Documentation Engineer position plays a critical role in the 24/7/365 operations of the business and supports Media Technology and Operations customers. The role is responsible for creating, modifying and auditing the department's knowledge base, training, system and procedural documentation. The engineer participates in onboarding new technologies and workflows in the GCC and coordinates with engineering partners to convert existing or create new procedural documentation. They also create training materials for system rollouts and serve as the first point of contact when documentation becomes obsolete. In addition, the engineer engages in Incident and Major Incident processes, auditing partner queues, maintaining ticket hygiene, investigating data for knowledge gaps, identifying incident trends that generate knowledge, and ensuring proper resolution.

This is a 6‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all work is performed at the place of work.

Responsibilities

The Documentation Engineer’s responsibilities include:

  • Creating, modifying, and updating system and procedural documentation.
  • Prioritizing knowledge tasks with the Knowledge team.
  • Auditing, editing, and reviewing knowledge articles in an ITIL ServiceNow knowledge tool.
  • Collaborating with other teams for onboarding of systems into the GCC from a technical‑writing perspective.
  • Auditing, editing, and reviewing training and onboarding modules.
  • Searching partner queues in ServiceNow for trends and potential new services that support GCC.
  • Searching partner queues for trends and incidents that may require improved documentation.
  • Reporting findings to Knowledge Engineers to assist potential knowledge creation.
Skills and Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. The following technical writing and general skill set is desired:

  • Meet with subject‑matter experts to ensure specialized topics are addressed.
  • Review and/or copyedit content produced by team members.
  • Fluency in technical and common office software, drafting software, and workflow‑building tools.
  • Check technical material for consistency and accuracy.
