Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Document Controller for a hybrid role in Manchester. This position involves managing the lifecycle of programme documentation for major projects at an airport. Responsibilities include organising documents, managing workflows, and ensuring compliance with legal standards. This role supports multi-million-pound, complex capital development programme essential to the airport's long‑term growth, safety and operational resilience. The role of the document controller is to oversee the end‑to‑end lifecycle of programme documentation for two major programmes. Both programmes are nearing the end with a core focus on close‑out and completion of remaining projects. Contractors are also in the critical stage of completing and issuing all required handover documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Organisation and maintenance of programme documents: Create, store, organise and retrieve electronic and physical documents, utilising Aconex.
  • Manage document workflow: Track the creation, revision and distribution of documents, preparing them for submission and ensuring they are current and accurate.
  • Implement and enforce procedures: Ensure documents comply with company and legal regulations, and that the correct procedures are followed for document flow and control.
  • Create and manage documentation: Prepare document templates, forms and maintain logs of correspondence and key dates.
  • Communicate and distribute: Distribute documents to the relevant team members and stakeholders, and inform them when action is needed.
  • Archive and secure: Archive documents and ensure the security and confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Management and maintenance of users for programme SharePoint sites.
