Job summary

A leading NHS trust in the UK is seeking a Divisional Personal Assistant to provide high-level administrative support to senior management. The ideal candidate will excel at organisation and communication, with proven experience supporting Board-level executives in a healthcare setting. Personal Assistant - Emergency Services & Critical Care

We are looking for someone who thrives on organisation, problem-solving and supporting others. In this role, you’ll be a vital part of a team that helps patients, families and clinicians feel confident and cared for throughout their journey.

This role provides a high level of personal administrative support to our senior management team, as well as providing support for individual pieces of work and projects for other members of the division, including the consultant body and senior nursing team. As well as the PA aspect of the role, it’s very much a Team Support role.

Main duties of the job

A large part of the role is relationship building, both with your colleagues and with staff working in other areas of the Trust. You will be expected to work with other Divisional PA's in the board to help build a strong supportive group of professionals that help and support each other.

Please note that due to the nature of the role, the majority of the postholder's time will need to be spent onsite. We do offer flexible working options however

Person Specification
Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Proven experience of working as a PA or EA to Board-level executives within the NHS
  • NVQ level 4 secretarial or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working in a healthcare environment.
  • RSA level 3 or equivalent secretarial experience
  • Medical Secretary qualification (e.g. BSMSA/AMSPAR recognised) or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of a wide range of Trust/NHS procedures and practices
  • Experience of working in a large organisation

  • The ability to receive and deal effectively with confidential and sensitive information; which requires empathy and reassurance skills
  • Skills in motivating and influencing others.
  • The ability to deal with and respond to various external agencies particularly, Department of Health, Strategic Health Authorities and other NHS Trusts
  • To act in such a manner as to maintain and protect patient and staff confidentiality at all times
