Job description
The Role

The Role
My client, a FTSE 250, is developing its finance function through the appointment of a new Divisional Finance Analyst. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing global company in a niche manufacturing industry in a highly visible role serving 2 Divisional Directors and multiple businesses, offering broad commercial experience as well as significant interaction with senior operational leadership. The division generates over £250m in revenue, which accounts for around 50% of group revenues, although there will be ad hoc requests from the wider group.

The role is UK based and will report to the Divisional Finance Director. The position is highly visible; requires a “hands-on” approach and an ambitious person who is self-motivated and can work, for the most part, independently. The ability to manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently is essential.

The role will provide vast exposure to all aspects of the operational and financial processes within the division. Working with senior management at an entity level is essential but the role also requires significant interaction with international operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all periodical reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner
  • Detailed review of country and Opco reporting packs (P&L and Balance Sheets)
  • Assist with the budget and 12 month rolling forecast process for income statement and balance sheet
  • Gross margin analysis for key businesses
  • Working capital review and driving improvements
  • Understand and communicate internal and external drivers impacting business performance versus budget and forecast
  • Assess potential risks and opportunities
  • Follow up on internal audit recommendations
  • Ensure all local accounts are fully compliant with internal and external requirements
  • Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with finance teams across the group
  • Support the integration process for newly acquired businesses
  • Head up the utilisation of Power BI
  • Ad-hoc projects as directed by the FD including but not limited to reporting improvements, ERP upgrades, CAPEX follow-up etc.
Successful Applicant
  • Qualified/nearly qualified accountant with at least 2 years’ post qualified experience
  • Good level of knowledge on IFRS desirable
  • Strong financial and accounting background, reporting, budgeting, balance sheet and cash flow management
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required
  • Proficiency with Power BI
  • Good working knowledge of Oracle FCC, Hyperion consolidation and Hyperion Smart View would be useful
  • Languages – English (other European useful).
  • Experience of working within a Group environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment desirable
  • Self-motivated, proactive and the ability to work independently.
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Commercial awareness, and experience of business partnering would be an advantage
  • Happy with a policy of 4 days per week in the office, flexible hours
  • Willing to travel overseas from time to time
