Job summary

Lookers is seeking a commercially focused Divisional Accountant to join our Nissan division in Chester. You will support a portfolio of dealerships across Northern Ireland, producing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and performance analysis to drive profitability across the division.

You will collaborate with operational leaders and senior finance stakeholders, ensuring robust controls and timely reporting in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or Qualified by Experience.
• Strong knowledge of management accounting, financial controls and reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with ability to analyse complex financial data.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts for allocated dealerships.
• Lead month-end and year-end financial close processes.
• Analyse financial performance, identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve profitability.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial plans aligned with business objectives.
• Conduct balance sheet reviews and maintain strong financial controls across the division.
• Partner with dealership management teams to provide financial insight and challenge for decision-making.
• Monitor KPIs and provide meaningful commentary on business performance.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and company policies.
• Support audits and statutory reporting requirements as needed.
• Lead and develop best practice across financial reporting and accounting processes.
