Distillery Production Operator (Distiller)
Location: Wadebridge, Cornwall
Position: Full Time 40 hours
We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate preferably with distilling/brewing/food manufacturing experience, to join the Distillery Team in our rapidly growing business.
You will be passionate about what you do and keen to learn new skills or develop your own. The successful applicant will be given full training and the opportunity to develop within Distilling Operations.
Based in our fast‑paced production area, you will be working independently, alongside multi‑skilled colleagues, to become a valued member of the team.

Role Overview
As a Distillery Production Operative, you will be a key member of our production team, ensuring the creation of high‑quality spirits. You will follow established processes, uphold strict health and safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Work according to a rota, including flexible shift hours (6am – 7pm), with potential weekend work during peak periods
- Oversee day‑to‑day production of award‑winning spirits
- Open the distillery in the morning and prepare for production
- Operate distillation processes from start to finish, including reduction and creation of spirits
- Maintain quality and consistency standards within the team
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead team activities when required
- Keep accurate records, including HMRC excise documentation
- Monitor KPIs and upload daily production data to distillery management software
- Adhere to all Health & Safety and HMRC guidelines
- Participate in tasting, smelling, and quality control of spirits
- Undertake other duties as required by line manager
Physical Requirements
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 25kg
- Work in wet and dry environments with varying temperatures
- Safely handle chemicals while wearing appropriate PPE
Ideal Skills & Experience
- Knowledge and practice of Health & Safety procedures
- Scientific, organised, and methodical mindset
- Experience in stock control
- Familiarity with Quality Control guidelines
- Understanding of SALSA, BRC, ISO standards or similar
- Experience with 5S / WCM operations or similar
- Attention to detail and numeracy skills
- Computer literate: proficient in MS365 Office package
- Critical thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities
- Strong organisational skills and self‑motivation
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team
Working Hours
- Standard pattern: 4 x 10‑hour shifts (Monday–Thursday)
- Rest days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday (subject to change based on business needs)
- Flexible shift pattern between 6am and 7pm

Additional Information
Whilst we will provide full training an understanding of distilling and reducing spirits, experience in beverage creation and food processing will be beneficial.
Due to the location, own transport will be required.
