Job summary

Boots Opticians is seeking a qualified Dispensing Optician to deliver high-level customer care and expert advice in-store, reporting to the Store Manager. You will provide clinical support for regulated dispensing and help customers choose eyewear tailored to their needs.

The role emphasises CPD commitment, embracing new technologies, and contributing to a supportive, high-performing Optical team within Boots Opticians. DBS checks may be required depending on location.

Qualifications

• Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
• CPD training completed as part of the GOC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support in store for regulated dispensing.
• Inspire the Optical team by sharing knowledge to deliver excellent service.
• Listen to customers and offer expertise and advice.
• Help customers choose eyewear best suited to their needs.
• Support the team to deliver an efficient in-store model day and compliant operations.
• Provide expert knowledge for patients with specialist requirements.

What you'll be doing

As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing
• Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.
• Listening to the needs of customers and offer expertise and advice.
• Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offer guidance to ensure our customers receive the best product suited to their needs.
• Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.
• Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.

What you'll need to have (our must-haves)

• Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
• Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.
