Overview

Dispatch Team Leader

Salary circa: up to £32,000 per annum (depending on experience).

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm.

Location: Eye, Suffolk. Industry: Manufacturing. Contract: Full-time, Permanent.

We are representing a leading UK-based Food Manufacturing Company, dedicated to producing high-quality products for major retailers and foodservice providers. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a hands-on and motivated Dispatch Team Leader to join their fast-paced logistics team and ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient dispatch of their finished goods.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of dispatch operatives to ensure timely and accurate dispatch of customer orders.
  • Coordinate daily workloads, shift planning, and task delegation.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and company standards.
  • Liaise with the Dispatch Manager, Production, and Transport teams to manage order flow and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate dispatch records and update systems accordingly.
  • Support the training and development of team members.
  • Monitor stock levels of packaging and dispatch materials, raising any shortages.
  • Conduct checks to ensure goods are packed, labelled, and dispatched correctly.
  • Investigate and resolve dispatch errors or delays in real time.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience in a dispatch, warehouse, or logistics as a Team Leader - ideally within food manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Proven ability to lead or supervise a team in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of dispatch and stock control processes.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, traceability, and quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, solve problems under pressure, and adapt quickly to change.
  • Competent in using WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) systems.
  • Good numeracy and attention to detail, particularly with order accuracy and labelling.
  • Flexible, proactive approach with a strong work ethic and commitment to team success.
