A leading health organization in Wales is seeking a Lead Manager to oversee the Operations function at its acute sites. Responsibilities include managing performance and delivery of service targets, leading a team, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership and operational management skills and have a passion for improving health services. Fluency in Welsh is desirable but not essential.
The Lead Manager is responsible for the delivery of the Operations function within one of the Directorates of our acute sites. Working closely with the clinical and managerial teams, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of operational, financial, performance, service modernisation and improvement, governance and activity targets within their specialty and will operate with significant autonomy. The post‑holder will implement major service developments within the specialty to meet national targets.
This is a key leadership role for all service areas within the specialty. The Lead Manager will lead on the co‑ordination to Access and Referral to Treatment (RTT) targets for their specialties within the Acute Hospital site, working with other senior management colleagues within BCUHB to ensure that the optimal waiting times are achieved.
The Lead Manager will ensure that the Directorate functions as one service in respect of performance, working to shared objectives and standards. The post‑holder will lead, manage and develop the specialty performance (such as ED performance, RTT) so that the service is flexible and able to respond to operational pressures.
The post‑holder will facilitate the implementation of all mandated processes for quality, patient safety and clinical effectiveness within the specialty, and that any risks to delivering its core objectives are minimised through a sound governance framework. This will include the development of information and communication systems, and in working closely with others to promote a robust performance management system.
The Lead Site Manager participates in the managerial operational (Bronze) on call rota.
