A regional educational trust in the East Midlands is seeking Trustees to support the strategic vision and ensure the quality of educational provision. Ideal candidates should have senior leadership experience and expertise in areas such as finance or HR. The role involves around six meetings a year, offering a chance to impact educational outcomes positively. Commitment to safeguarding children and young people is essential.
The Trust currently comprises nine primary academies. All 9 academies are located locally within Leicestershire, and board meetings will all be held within the county.
Trustees, who are also Directors of the Company, are volunteers who support the Trust, CEO and Leadership in delivering the strategic vision of the Trust. They will develop and review strategic plans; ensure the operation of the trust complies with its legal requirements and delivers a high quality curriculum, using resources efficiently and effectively, to deliver outstanding education and outcomes for our pupils and communities.
Supporting the leadership in management of staff.
Trustees will meet six times a year in Leicestershire. Each meeting is expected to last 2 - 3 hours (max) but directors / trustees should also factor in some preparation time. Meetings typically take place in the early evening. In addition there will also be an opportunity for Trustees to work alongside our Local Governing Bodies. This would require a commitment of a further 6 meetings per year which are anticipated to last no more than 2 hours.
We are seeking talented individuals who have the ability to work strategically with experience of leadership at senior management or director level.
