Job summary

Fitch Ratings, a leading global credit ratings agency, is seeking a Director-level Credit Analyst for its European Structured Finance team in Manchester. You will lead and perform credit analysis, modelling, and rating proposals for complex securitisation transactions backed by multiple asset types.

The role requires strong numeracy, Excel proficiency and a solid finance background. Candidates should be comfortable reviewing legal documents and communicating findings to investors and committees.

Qualifications

  • Candidate should have finance experience with strong numerical abilities.
  • Experience in securitisation structures and CLOs is beneficial.
  • Ability to review legal documents from a credit risk perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Perform default, recovery, and cash flow modelling for structured credit.
  • Review transaction documents and supporting criteria.
  • Support rating proposals and communicate risk to stakeholders.

About The Team

Fitch’s European Structured Finance team maintains existing ratings and assigns ratings to new structured finance transactions.

  • We are currently seeking a Director level Credit Analyst to join the European Structured Finance team
  • The successful candidate will be part of a team of analysts rating transactions back by mortgage loans, consumer loans and/or corporate loan including leveraged loan CLOs
  • The team analyses transactions in line with Fitch’s rating criteria and provides high quality credit opinions to investors and other market participants
How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Implement default, recovery, and cash flow modelling
  • Reviewing transaction legal documents
  • On-site review of underwriting and servicing of transaction originators and CLO managers
  • Preparing rating proposals for presentation to internal rating committees
  • Communicating rating rationale to investors and other market participants through presale reports, presentations, and meetings
  • Communicating with transaction arrangers and originators to understand asset characteristics and structural features of the transactions
  • Assist in the development of criteria and supporting research
You May Be a Good Fit If
  • This is a demanding and exciting role, so we are looking for highly motivated candidates
  • The successful candidate should have some prior experience in finance
  • Knowledge of securitisation structures and in particular CLOs would be beneficial
  • Candidates will be highly numerate and analytical, with advanced Excel skills
  • The role also involves analysis of legal transaction documents. While no legal background is required successful candidates should be able to review and analyse legal contracts from a credit risk perspective

  • A central element of the position is communicating your analysis, both internally and externally. Therefore, candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills in English
