Job summary

Elsevier seeks an experienced Director of Product Management to lead a SaaS product within the Academic and Government Solutions business. You will shape the strategy, drive execution, and grow the product responsibly while delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

You will build and lead a high-performing PM team, align stakeholders, and guide investment decisions to maximize value for customers and the business. London-based or potential remote/hybrid arrangements may apply.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in Product Management with leadership responsibility in complex software or technology environments.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Proven success managing products or product portfolios that delivered measurable growth and commercial results.
  • Experience leading and developing Product Managers and building high-performing teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen, translating market opportunities into business outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
  • Experience using customer insights, market research, analytics, and experimentation to inform product decisions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience with AI products and spec-driven code-generation is a plus.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Director Product Management with technical and commerical experiences to lead a Software as a Service (SaaS) product within our Academic and Government Solutions business. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for defining product strategy, driving execution, delivering sustainable growth, and ensuring exceptional customer outcomes.

You will own the strategic direction of your product domain, balancing customer needs, market opportunities, technical innovation, and commercial objectives. Working closely with senior stakeholders across product, technology, shared services, sales, marketing, customer success, and executive leadership teams, you will shape the future roadmap and lead investment decisions that maximise value for customers and the business.

You will also play a key leadership role in building and developing a high-performing product management team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Our A&G Solutions team develops innovative technology solutions that support research institutions, universities, funding organisations, and research leaders worldwide. We help our customers make better decisions through trusted data, analytics, workflow tools, and digital products that support the advancement of research and academic excellence.

Requirements

If performed in the following location: Home-Based - Denmark or Aalborg (Alfred Nobels), the base pay range is kr880,100 - kr1,467,100. If performed in NLD Amsterdam (Radarweg), the base pay range is €110,500 - €184,000.
