Overview

Director of Technology & Innovation – Location: London, or Leeds

We’re delighted to be partnering with Capsticks LLP on the appointment of their new Director of Technology & Innovation - a fantastic opportunity with a leading law firm.

This pivotal role will shape and lead the firm’s technology strategy and operations. Reporting to the COO and working closely with senior leadership, you’ll play a key role in driving innovation and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 30 IT professionals across Birmingham, Leeds, and London, ensuring reliable systems and high-quality service delivery.
  • Review core systems (including CMS and DMS), the client onboarding journey, and optimise technology tools to support fee earners.
Qualifications & Characteristics
  • Proven experience in senior IT leadership, with the insight and resilience to navigate complex challenges.
  • A strong track record in leading strategic technology initiatives and championing new technologies and transformative change.
  • Solid operational background with evidence of delivering service improvements and overseeing successful system upgrades.
  • Ability to balance day-to-day operations with continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence and engage at the highest level across the wider business, building strong relationships, inspiring confidence, and driving consensus.
Location & Working Style

The role is based in London or Leeds, with a minimum of two days per week in the office and monthly visits to other locations. As a visible and collaborative leader, you’ll attend regular director meetings and help foster a flexible, hybrid working culture.
