Job summary

Simple Machines UK is seeking a senior technology leader to join the UK leadership team. You will work hands-on with software engineering teams, guide major client engagements, shape propositions and drive new business while mentoring the technology professionals.

You’ll influence architecture and delivery across AI-native and agentic systems, grow strategic accounts, and build a high-performance engineering culture in the UK and Europe.

Qualifications

• Software engineering: 15+ years in software and technology, progressing through engineering to architecture and leadership.
• Technology consultancy: significant experience with enterprise clients in a recognised consultancy.
• Pre-sales and sales: experience in discovery, proposition shaping, proposals, RFPs and pitches.
• Enterprise: designing and delivering technology in complex Tier 1 environments (banking, trading, telecoms, wagering, insurance).
• Architecture: strong software, solution and enterprise architecture capability.
• Leadership: proven senior client leadership and developing engineers, tech leads and architects.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technology leadership to clients and lead major pursuits.
• Shape propositions, solutions and go-to-market strategies.
• Lead UK technology team and mentor senior engineers and architects.
• Drive delivery of complex software, AI-native and agentic programmes.
• Own architecture decisions and ensure enterprise-grade rigour.
• Sell ideas and influence across clients and internal stakeholders.
