Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Director of Quality for a prominent pharmaceutical manufacturing organization in the South East of England. In this senior leadership role, you will shape the quality strategy, lead a high-performing QA/QC team, and ensure compliance with GxP standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the pharmaceutical sector and quality leadership. This role supports a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility while driving quality excellence across operations.

Qualifications

Job description

Allerton Bishop Search is partnering with a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation to appoint a Director of Quality . This is a senior leadership position responsible for shaping the site’s Quality strategy, leading a high-performing QA / QC organisation, and ensuring robust GxP compliance across operations.

As Director of Quality, you will play a pivotal role in driving a modern, proactive quality culture while supporting the organisation’s long-term growth and transformation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership across Quality Assurance and Quality Control , ensuring compliance with global GxP standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of QA and QC managers, building capability and driving high performance.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operational, Technical, and Supply Chain leaders to embed a culture of quality excellence across the business.
  • As the Director of Quality, you will act as the primary point of contact for UK and European health authorities, including MHRA, EMA, and FDA , overseeing inspections and regulatory interactions.
  • Drive continuous improvement of quality systems, processes, and digitalisation initiatives to strengthen long-term quality infrastructure.
Candidate Profile
  • Experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing or biotechnology is essential.
  • Deep knowledge of GxP regulations and industry best practices.
  • Proven quality leadership experience managing managers and / or department heads.
  • QP status is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to work on-site in the South East of England on a hybrid basis.
