Overview

Macdonald & Company are thrilled to be partnering with Duchy of Cornwall to make a number of key hires for its growing Development Team. The Duchy’s approach to land, property and community building has long been rooted in sustainability and long‑term stewardship. Recent changes in leadership, including the succession of its new principal, HRH The Duke of Cornwall, have created an opportunity to come forward with a new strategy, enabling the Duchy to move into a period of leadership, rooted in commercial and social impact. This new strategy will set out how the organisation can deliver positive outcomes for community, nature and climate, through its development activity and retained estate. New members of the Development Team will increase organisational capacity and capability at this exciting time, accelerating development opportunities across the Duchy’s London and South East Estate.

Position

The Project Management Director will be integral to the Senior Leadership team, helping to shape the forward strategy and supporting a newly appointed Development Director with the delivery of all current and future development projects in London, including a 300‑home development adjacent to the Oval Cricket Ground; and South East Faversham, a new 2,500‑home mixed‑use community. They will be the Duchy’s lead project management representative for the delivery of its development projects in the South East, translating the Duchy’s vision into practical procurement strategies and overseeing all aspects of project delivery from inception to completion. They will also support the Executive Director with overall programme management and best practice across the Duchy’s wider development projects.

Client and Direct Development Functions

Both the Development Director and Project Management Director will undertake a client function where the Duchy intends to continue working with trusted development partners. However, they will also be required to turn their hand to direct development management and project management activities where projects require it.
