Job summary

NHS Trusts seeks a Director of Operations to lead end-to-end technical delivery, scaling, and service quality for healthcare software deployments across NHS settings. You will align delivery with clinical workflows, governance, and enterprise systems, driving outcomes across multiple programmes.

Reporting to executive leadership, you will build repeatable deployment frameworks, direct operational teams, and ensure KPI-driven performance while navigating complex healthcare environments.

Qualifications

• Proven operational or technical delivery leadership within a vendor deploying NHS digital health solutions.
• Knowledge of enterprise clinical systems integration and deployment (EPR, Order Communications, etc.).
• Track record scaling delivery operations in agile, high-growth tech environments.
• Expertise across capacity planning, governance, risk mitigation, and KPI-driven management.
• Hands-on leader who can design strategy and execute operationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-site NHS software implementations, overseeing technical delivery across Trusts, ICSs, and primary care.
• Establish repeatable deployment frameworks, SOPs, and resource models for UK programmes.
• Drive delivery governance with NHS guidelines, clinical safety, interoperability, and SLAs.
• Direct and grow operational delivery teams with clear KPIs and accountability.
• Escalation point for CIOs/CCIOs and partner with exec leadership on growth readiness.
