Job summary

King’s College School Wimbledon invites applications for a Director of Higher Education from September 2027. The role reports to the Deputy Head (Director of Studies) and leads post-18 applications across UK, USA and beyond, including degree apprenticeships and specialist pathways.

Qualifications

• A good honours degree from a respected university.
• Excellent teaching record in any academic discipline.
• Experience leading or contributing to higher education provision within a school or sixth form setting.
• Experience of middle leadership (e.g., head of department, head of year, head of house) or comparable responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee post-18 applications guidance for King's College School, Wimbledon.
• Direct, help and support pupils and families in selecting post-18 options in the UK, USA and beyond.
• Collaborate with deputy heads, head of sixth form, director of IB and head of A level to shape higher education guidance.
• Contribute to the broader King’s international family of schools and provide training as appropriate.
