Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust invites applications for a Director of Finance (Operational) to join our Finance Senior Leadership Team and help shape the financial future of one of the NHS’s largest teaching hospitals. You will lead financial planning, reporting and the provision of trusted advice to senior leaders across the Trust.

You will build a high-performing, inclusive finance function, influencing major decisions and working closely with clinical and operational leaders to deliver

Qualifications

• CCAB-qualified, values-led finance leader with substantial senior experience in a large, complex organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Trust’s Financial Planning and Reporting team and provide leadership to senior finance colleagues.
• Shape and maintain the Trust’s long-term financial model, annual financial plan and budget-setting process.
• Lead high-quality monthly and annual financial reporting to the Board, Trust committees, executive leaders and external organisations.
• Provide authoritative, impartial advice on budgets, business cases, financial performance, organisational risk and major service changes.
• Strengthen financial benchmarking, business intelligence and insight into productivity and efficiency opportunities.
• Interpret national policy, guidance, and legislation, assessing implications for the Trust and supporting implementation.
• Work closely with clinical, operational, workforce and finance leaders across the Trust and with partners across West Yorkshire.
• Deputise for the Deputy Chief Finance Officer where appropriate.
• Create an inclusive, empowered and continuously improving finance function.

This is a strategic role with Trust-wide influence. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Finance Officer, you will lead financial planning and reporting, provide trusted advice to senior leaders, and influence major decisions across the Trust.

You will also lead and develop high-performing finance teams, support continuous improvement and help ensure resources deliver the greatest benefit for patients.

We are looking for a CCAB-qualified, values-led finance leader with substantial senior experience in a large, complex organisation and the credibility to influence at Board and executive level.
