What you’ll do
  • Lead the organisation’s financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and management accounts.
  • Partner with senior and departmental leaders to optimise resources, improve efficiency, and deliver value for money.
  • Oversee commercial operations, including lettings and enterprise opportunities, ensuring long‑term sustainability.
  • Drive operational excellence across estates, IT and health & safety, maintaining full regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate on strategic projects - from financial planning to capital developments, bringing commercial insight and rigour.
  • Build strong relationships with central partners and external stakeholders to enhance collaboration and governance.
  • Lead, mentor and empower a capable team including Finance, Estates, IT, and Health & Safety managers, fostering growth and accountability.
What you’ll need
  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience with strong financial leadership credentials.
  • Proven experience overseeing both finance and operations within a school setting.
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to identify opportunities and manage risk.
  • A collaborative and approachable leadership style, with excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong hands‑on capability, able to balance long‑term planning with day‑to‑day delivery.
  • Experience in an education, not‑for‑profit, or values‑led organisation is desirable but not essential.
