Director of Finance
  • Annual Salary: £140,000 - £150,000 per annum plus £11k Car Allowance
  • Location: Northwich, Cheshire
  • Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a Director of Finance to lead the financial strategy and ensure the financial integrity of the operations for a powerhouse FMCG organisation. This pivotal leadership role requires a combination of financial acumen, governance expertise, and visionary leadership to drive sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Breakdown of the Role:
Relationship Development
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with peers who have responsibility for all functions as the leadership team within the Group
  • Provide leadership, support and guidance to the wider Finance teams within the business
  • Establishing effective relationships with site management teams is critical to success in this role
  • Promote a business partnering approach between Finance and the other functions within the business.
  • Work collaboratively, building strong effective relationships and links with colleagues in the US.
  • Engage proactively and constructively with external stakeholders
Financial Excellence
  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies that align with the organisation's long-term goals.
  • Collaborate with company leadership to drive business transformation and innovation
  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Ensure robust financial governance and risk management practices to safeguard the organisation's assets and reputation.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic initiatives
Financial Governance
  • Financial reporting, statutory accounts; extended trail balance; Directors report; Notes to the accounts; UK FRS 102
  • Monthly Accounts including Consolidated pack; Commentary; Variance Analysis; Accounting Policy owner; SAP owner; Balance sheet sign off; GRC reporting; Letter of representation – half year and full year accounts.
  • Weekly Accounts including P&L; KPIs; Y&E
  • Treasury including Cash management; Foreign Exchange – strategy & implementation
  • Payroll, including HMRC compliance, payroll reporting and governance.
Commercial
  • Strategic Plan, including Financial Models
  • Annual Business Plan, including Sales plan; Operations plan; P&L
  • Forecasting including Sales/cost of sales/gross margin/overheads/P&L/balance sheet/variance analysis
  • Sales support including Customer and product profitability; Key contract negotiations; Pricing strategy/costings; Reconciliations; Credit limits; Credit insurance
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Full Qualified Accountant – ACA/ACCA or CIMA
  • Ideally Practice trained with Industry experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial management, governance, and strategic planning.
  • Ideally experience of working within a multi-site or international organisation
  • FMCG experience preferred
