Director of Estates, Projects & Sustainability
  • Location: FE College based in Northeast London
  • Job Type: Full–time – FTC 12 month contract
  • Salary: GBP75,000 per annum

Join this outstanding FE College as the Director of Estates, Projects & Sustainability. This pivotal role demands strong leadership to optimise estate management, ensuring a high–quality working and learning environment. The successful candidate will develop and implement a forward–thinking estates strategy that aligns with the College's vision of delivering outstanding technical and professional learning.

Day–to–Day of the Role:
  • Develop and implement a long–term Estates Master Plan, aligning with the College's strategic vision.
  • Lead the transformation of the Estates Department, managing the estates budget and supporting capital projects.
  • Ensure the upkeep of buildings and grounds to high standards through a Planned Preventive Maintenance Plan (PPM).
  • Manage in–house and contracted–out premises related services, including catering, cleaning, waste management, and security.
  • Develop a Sustainability and Carbon Reduction Strategy, implementing energy–saving initiatives to reduce environmental impact.
  • Lead on all health and safety matters, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • An appropriate Facilities related qualification (BIFM Part 3 & 4 or HND equivalent) in a related discipline.
  • NEBOSH Certificate or other recognised Health and Safety qualifications.
  • Proven experience in a relevant discipline, particularly in capital projects, facilities and estates, and health and safety roles.
  • Significant experience in leading the estates responsibilities of capital project planning and delivery.
  • Excellent financial management skills and experience in leading, motivating, and developing diverse teams.
  • Advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables and charts), and intermediate skills in Word and Outlook.
