Job Title: Director of Estates & Facilities

Location: Highbury Campus, Sixth Form Campus, North Harbour Campus and Arundel Campus

Salary: Up to £75,000 Full Time Equivalent per annum

Hours of work: 37 Hours per week, 52 Weeks per year, Full-Time, Permanent

About the role:

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for strategic management and operational excellence? The City of Portsmouth College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Estates & Facilities to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic leadership and operational management of our Estates and Facilities Services, ensuring alignment with the College’s vision and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Estates strategy, capital projects, and sustainability planning.
  • Manage substantial operational and capital budgets, driving cost efficiency and value for money procurement.
  • Oversee project management of construction, major repairs, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Ensure all College services and areas of accommodation are fully operational and meet safety and security requirements.
  • Champion sustainable, environmentally friendly, and digital solutions, including waste management, recycling, green technologies, and cloud adoption.
To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:
  • Proven experience in managing Premises, Estates, and Facilities Departments.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate strategy into practical results.
  • Excellent management and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
