About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Director to lead the UK commercial operations for the power cable division. This is a pivotal role responsible for driving growth across sales, business development, and marketing functions. The successful candidate will spearhead market expansion, build high-performing teams, and develop long-term customer relationships across the energy, infrastructure, and utilities sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the UK commercial strategy, aligning with global objectives to drive revenue growth and market share.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage the UK sales, business development, and marketing teams, fostering a culture of performance, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Market Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the UK, including major infrastructure projects, renewable energy developments, and utility partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Commercial Oversight: Oversee pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and bid management to ensure competitive positioning and profitability.
  • Guide the development of targeted marketing campaigns, brand positioning, and thought leadership initiatives to enhance market visibility.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and performance metrics to inform strategic decisions and continuous improvement.

  • Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership role within the power cable, electrical infrastructure, or related industrial sectors.
  • Strong track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering business growth.
  • Deep understanding of the UK energy and infrastructure landscape.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with global teams.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across the UK (up to 60% at times).
