University of York invites applications for Head of Atmospheric Observations at NCAS. You will oversee long-term atmospheric measurements, gas and aerosol observations, and remote-sensing facilities, guiding a multi-site team to deliver high-quality data and international science impact.

The role requires strategic leadership, a PhD in a relevant field, and a track record in developing observational datasets and innovative data products for diverse user communities.

Qualificações

• Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team and projects, including budget planning and delivery of complex technical activities.
• A track record in developing and deploying excellent atmospheric observations and an ability to deliver high value datasets.
• A PhD in a relevant field, or equivalent experience, with an excellent understanding of atmospheric observations and/or facilities management.
• Knowledge of the latest developments in analytical, environmental and atmospheric observations.
• Knowledge of national and international frameworks for environmental observations (e.g. AURN, WMO, ICOS, ACTRIS).
• Ability to support NCAS observations staff to develop novel data products and visualization tools and promote their use by new user communities.

Responsabilidades

• Provide vision and leadership for NCAS Observations across long-term measurement sites, gas and aerosol observations, and remote-sensing facilities.
• Guide a diverse portfolio, lead a team of scientists across NCAS and partner universities, and ensure high-quality data and national capability.
• Drive innovation in observational technologies and data products while coordinating multiple distributed sites.
