Job summary

Goodman Masson is partnering with a well-established housing association in the Midlands to recruit a Director of Asset Management. This pivotal leadership role will shape long-term investment, safety and sustainability of a diverse housing portfolio while improving outcomes for residents and communities.

You will lead asset management strategy, oversee major investment programmes and ensure delivery of safe, compliant and high-quality homes.

Qualifications

• Senior leader with a proven track record in asset management within housing or public sector.
• Strong understanding of building safety and statutory compliance.
• Experience delivering large-scale capital investment programmes with significant budgets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a long-term Asset Management Strategy aligned to corporate objectives.
• Lead planned investment, major works and cyclical maintenance programmes.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements relating to building safety and property compliance.
• Drive sustainability, retrofit and decarbonisation ambitions, securing value from funding opportunities.
• Use asset data to inform investment decisions and optimise portfolio performance.
• Lead procurement and management of contractors and strategic partners for value for money.
• Manage substantial capital budgets with governance and financial control.
• Develop and inspire multidisciplinary teams with a culture of accountability and customer focus.
• Build strong relationships with residents, regulators and external stakeholders.
• Provide strategic advice and performance reporting to the Executive Team and Board.
