Description

Tripledot is one of the largest independent mobile games companies in the world.

We are a multi-award-winning organisation, with a global 2,500+ strong team across 12 studios.

Our expanded portfolio includes some of the biggest titles in mobile gaming, collectively reaching top chart positions around the world and engaging over 25 million daily active users.

Tripledot’s guiding principle is that when people love what they do, what they do will be loved by others.

We’re building a company we’re proud of – one filled with driven, incredibly smart and detail-orientated people, who LOVE making games.

Our ambition is to be the most successful games company in the world, and we’re just getting started.

The role is working within our AI group

The group AI team is a central function that works both with other central groups like marketing and game solutions and the game studios which are part of Tripledot.

Role Overview

We are looking for a technical leader responsible for steering the strategic direction and alignment of generative AI work within the organization. This role is focused on building concrete valuable use cases to accelerate and scale productivity improvements with generative AI, aiming to revolutionize mobile game creation. The director will lead the effort to identify high-impact use cases for scalability and operationalise scalable AI systems that drive meaningful impact.

The critical component of this role involves exploration and experimentation. It will lead the organization's engagement in generative game creation enablement, moving beyond AI art and scalable agentic solutions for current operations to include renderer-driven gameplay experiments. This work will be instrumental in shaping how the organization embraces the future of AI-driven creativity and understands what the future of the AI game creation "game" might look like. The ideal candidate must possess an experimental mindset and view this challenge as a learning opportunity.

As part of this role, you will interact with various studios and other central teams, you will interact with data, engineering, and product teams. The goal of the group AI team is to make Tripledot an AI first company. You will be reporting into the VP of AI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Steer the strategic direction and alignment of AI work and act as a technical decision-maker for AI architecture and implementation.
  • Lead the development and deployment of new AI products, workflows applied research prototypes and experiments, contributing both development and technical expertise.
  • Drive strong fast technical execution from the AI team, applying best software engineering and AI/ML development practices.
  • Establish a collaborative generative AI ecosystem, collaborating closely with the games, marketing, and platform teams to identify opportunities and deliver scalable AI solutions that drive business value.
  • Monitor and evaluate generative AI experiments, focusing on generative game creation enablement and the exploration of emerging AI technologies.
  • Build organizational capacity for exploration and experimentation with cutting edge applied AI research techniques that enable us to understand what the future of gaming in the age of AI might be.
  • Evangelise AI internally through demos, presentations, and knowledge sharing. Mentor developers, creatives and team members on using AI tools and integrating them into their workflows.
  • Establish ways of keeping up with the relevant technology, best practices and applied research continuously emerging in the industry.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 10+ years in the industry working with a diverse set of AI/ML products and solutions.
  • Deep expertise both in “classic” ML algorithms and with generative AI, including both language and visual domains.
  • Proven experience in delivering AI/ML solutions in production, ideally within the gaming industry. Knowledge of free-to-play game mechanics and LiveOps environments is a bonus.
  • Experience driving efficient ML development lifecycle, experience outlining and implementing best software engineering practices in teams.
  • Experience architecting and building both traditional and modern agentic data-intensive systems (and some of the many everchanging tools enabling fine-tuning, RAG and MCP implementations). Strong understanding of ML Ops practices and software architecture.
  • Experience with AI infrastructure and cloud platforms (AWS and GCP).
  • Focus on innovation, coupled with a mindset of continuous learning and curiosity to explore emerging AI technologies. The successful candidate will have an agile, hands-on approach to prototyping and validation.
  • Understanding of the best practices in modern AI productivity tools for technical and creative development.
