Job summary

BNY is seeking a Director, Full-Stack Engineer to join the Enterprise Transformation Hub in Manchester or London. You will drive end-to-end development across UX, APIs, data integration and AI solution delivery, connecting front-end with data and context layers to enable practical outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Significant software development experience in full-stack roles; financial services exposure is a plus.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, JSON, and TypeScript.
• Strong communication, organizational and mentoring skills.
• Experience developing and supporting mainframe applications.
• Experience with multi-platform development tools and vendor methodologies.
• Knowledge of security and privacy principles is expected.

Responsibilities

• Consult with IT and business managers on issues related to area of expertise
• Resolve highly complex problems that impact the corporation’s ability to conduct business
• Write well-designed, testable code, and develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation
• Analyze, design, and develop tests and test automation suites; integrate components
• Apply security and privacy principles and mentor junior engineers
• Use knowledge to influence broad technology strategies for large IT divisions
• Stay current on emerging technologies and complete required training
• Leverage learning tools to achieve personal development goals
• Educate business leaders and prepare IT strategy presentations
