About The Role

As our Director, HR/People Team Effectiveness, you will lead and scale functions that sit at the intersection of People insights, communications, and program implementation. Reporting to the VP of Organizational Effectiveness, you will oversee Workforce Analytics, People Team Communications & Marketing, and Program Coordination. You help run the business, operating mechanisms such as Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and All Hands Meetings while driving data driven insights and correlations in service to continuous improvement.

This role requires a strategic leader who can connect data, storytelling, and operational excellence to strengthen Guardant’s culture and ensure our People Team strategies drive measurable impact. You’ll set vision, help build and lead a talented team, and collaborate with senior leadership across the enterprise to elevate how Guardant experiences its people programs.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Leadership

• Serve as a trusted advisor to the People Leadership Team, connecting workforce analytics, communications, and programs into cohesive strategies.
• Establish success measures and ensure continuous improvement across People programs and opera

People Team Communications & Marketing

• Oversee internal People Team communications and campaigns that amplify our culture, values, and strategic workforce priorities.
• Craft compelling narratives that connect employees to Guardant’s mission and to People programs that matter most.
• Partner with Corporate Communications and Marketing to align messaging and ensure a unified brand voice inside and outside the organization.

Workforce Analytics

• Lead the development of enterprise-wide workforce dashboards, reporting, and predictive insights.
• Partner with People Business Partners (PBPs) and business leaders to translate analytics into actionable strategies for talent, retention, and impact.
• Safeguard data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with privacy standards.

People Team Program Coordination & Operating Mechanisms

• Streamline and unify People Team programs into a coordinated calendar that connects employees to benefits, engagement, performance reflection, and development.
• Drive operational excellence in People Team operating mechanisms, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and All Hands Meetings while driving data driven insights and correlations in service to continuous improvement. Ensure cross-functional collaboration and readiness for strategic People team initiatives, scaling systems and processes as Guardant grows.

What You’ll Bring

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, HR, or related field required (or equivalent experience)
• 12+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with strong exposure to workforce analytics, communications/marketing, and program management.
• Proven success leading cross-functional teams and delivering enterprise-level initiatives in a high-growth or global organization.
• Strong ability to interpret data, translate insights into action, and influence senior leaders.
• Exceptional communication, change management, storytelling, and executive advisory skills.
• Skilled at designing and managing large-scale programs and operating mechanisms with measurable business impact.

Hybrid Work Model: This section is applicable to onsite employees who are eligible for hybrid work location as specified by management and related policies. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. This range does not include benefits or, if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, education, job-related skills, job duties, and business need. Primary Location: Remote - Open Position (USA) Primary Location Base Pay Range: $189,600 - $260,600 Other US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $189,600 - $260,600 If the role is performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is: $200,700 - $275,950
